在 Windows 10 系列产品中，功能更新会通过半年通道（SAC，Semi-Annual Channel）发布，该发布通道受新版「现代生命周期策略（Modern Lifecycle Policy）」管理。这项新策略意味着 Microsoft Windows 操作系统是作为服务提供的（WaaS，Windows as a Service），微软会不断更新服务并提升产品支持，而且会不遗余力地对产品进行完善和升华。

只要您当前的 Windows 10 使用的是正版许可，都可以获得支持。Microsoft 在首次公开发布某个 Windows 10 版本后，都至少会保留 18 个月的功能更新。在此期间，您可以不断获取到官方发布的「积累更新」，以确保设备安全更新并安装修复程序。通常，您必需在当前 Windows 10 版本的生命周期结束时升级到更新版本，才能继续获得官方（更新）支持。

如果您使用的是 1511、1607、1703 和 1709 的 Windows 10 企业版或教育版，微软将在生命周期截止日到达后提供 6 个月的额外支持服务。

另外，如果您使用的是 Windows 10 长期服务分支（LTSB）版本，其生命周期会有很大的不同。如果您不希望进行功能更新，那 Windows 10 LTSB 会是比较好的选择，而且其支持周期也长达 10 年。
